Danobatgroup demonstrates its commitment to innovation and young talent

Last Wednesday, we celebrated a new live show, this time with Aitor Añibarro, Head of Automation at Danobatgroup. It was an opportunity to learn firsthand how one of Europe’s leading machine tool manufacturers is addressing the challenges of digital transformation.

During the conversation, Aitor presented the journey of Danobatgroup, a cooperative group with over 70 years of experience and a workforce of over 1,400 people, which currently exports more than 90% of its production to international markets. The company works in sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, rail transport, and power generation, providing high-value-added solutions.

The livestream covered some of its most innovative projects, such as the new MTR precision robot, which combines the flexibility of a robotic arm with the stability of a machine tool, and the highly automated developments it has undertaken for companies such as Blue Origin in the aerospace sector.

Furthermore, the key role of young talent in this transformation process was highlighted. Aitor emphasized that Danobatgroup is looking not only for technical knowledge, but also for new ideas, fresh perspectives, and the ability to face the challenges of Industry 4.0.
Among the most in-demand profiles, he highlighted skills in areas such as:

  • Dematerialization of products and services (IoT, sensors, applied AI)
  • Process improvement in advanced manufacturing
  • Digital customer and new customer relationship models
  • Cybersecurity and digital culture

Furthermore, the latest edition of the Danobatgroup prize for digital change: artificial intelligence, automation and robotics was presented, as part of the TFG-TFM MONDRAGON Sariak 2025 Awards. The award aims to recognize bachelor’s and master’s degree projects that provide real solutions to the challenges of the industrial sector.

Danobatgroup’s collaboration with the university world is ongoing: each year, more than 50 students join its institutions through internship programs, bachelor’s/master’s degree projects, or technical placements. Many of them eventually join the team, as is the case with Aitor, who shared his professional development within the group.
