InpaktuDay 2025: The event that celebrates MONDRAGON’s transformative talent

On November 27, Bilbao will host a new edition of InpaktuDay, a day promoted by MONDRAGON that brings together people committed to innovation, cooperation, and positive impact.

Under the motto “Connect to learn, recognize to transform,” the event will take place at Espacio Yimby (Ercilla Street, 24). It will be much more than an awards ceremony: a unique experience to live, connect, feel, and celebrate the talent shaping the future.

A day to experience transformation

The InpaktuDay program invites participants to immerse themselves in MONDRAGON’s transformative purpose, discover innovative projects, and share experiences with professionals from leading cooperatives such as IKERLAN, LABORAL Kutxa, and Bexen Cardio.

Throughout the morning, participants will explore spaces to connect with innovation, and after lunch, they will have the opportunity to visit several cooperatives firsthand. In the afternoon, the TFG-TFM MONDRAGON Awards 2025 ceremony will take place, hosted by Julen Tellería and featuring live music — an inspiring moment to recognize young talent and its positive impact on society.

AIRISE Project: AI applications for smarter, more sustainable manufacturing

The European project AIRISE (AI Application Experiments in Manufacturing) aims to support European SMEs in adopting Artificial Intelligence technologies applied to manufacturing, with a specific focus on AI-enabled applications at the edge.

The initiative, funded by the Horizon Europe program and coordinated by the University of Patras (Greece), brings together a consortium of technology centers, universities and industrial companies from across Europe — including LORTEK, which contributes its expertise in advanced manufacturing and industrial digitalization.

The goal of AIRISE is clear: to reduce waste and carbon footprint while ensuring more efficient, sustainable and resilient production processes. To achieve this, the project will develop a collaborative ecosystem where AI experts will support experimental SMEs and connect them with Digital Innovation Hubs and commercial companies, promoting the transfer of solutions into real-world manufacturing environments.

AIRISE represents a decisive step towards the democratization of AI use in industry, facilitating its practical integration into production processes and contributing to Europe’s digital transformation and industrial sustainability goals.

Gaur zuzeneko berri bat ospatu dugu, oraingoan Beñat Arzadun izan dugu gurekin, Mundukide Fundazioko Komunikazio eta Gizarte Eraldaketarako Hezkuntza arduraduna. Saioa TFG-TFM MONDRAGON Sariak 2025 sarien testuinguruan kokatu da.

Elkarrizketan zehar, Beñatek azaldu du Mundukidek Mozambiken, Brasilen, Kolonbian eta Ekuadorren egiten duen lana, garapenerako proiektuak bultzatuz helburu argi batekin: inor atzean gera ez dadin.

Solasaldiak azpimarratu ditu lan duinaren balioa, lankidetza eta eragin soziala, baita Mundukidek garatzen dituen lurraldeetako erronkak eta aukerak ere. Gainera, Beñatek nabarmendu du zein profil eta jarrera bilatzen dituzten euren programetan parte hartzen duten pertsonengan: motibazioa, egokitzeko gaitasuna eta tokiko komunitateengandik ikasteko prestutasuna.

PATRON Project: Advanced training and real-time diagnostic technologies for system monitoring

The European project PATRON (The Doctoral Network on Prognostics and Health Management of nexT GeneRatiOn drivetraiNs), with the active participation of the cooperative IKERLAN, aims to drive the next generation of Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) methodologies and technologies applied to complex industrial systems. Its main goal is to develop solutions capable of performing real-time diagnostics and prognostics, thus improving the reliability and resilience of European industry.

Funded by Horizon Europe under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie program, the initiative brings together universities, research centers and technology companies from across Europe. Within this framework, 10 doctoral candidates will receive advanced training in an interdisciplinary environment that combines mechanical engineering, data science and artificial intelligence.

IKERLAN plays a key role in the project by leading research lines focused on data-driven modeling and analysis to estimate the remaining useful life of powertrains in Industry 4.0 environments. This approach will make it possible to anticipate failures and ensure greater efficiency and safety in critical processes.

With PATRON, Europe strengthens its commitment to building a more sustainable, resilient and digital industry, aligned with the European Green Deal and the transition towards Industry 5.0.

MyOrbik 0.5: Functional evolution of the myorbik platform for SCA vulnerability analysis

Orbik has launched version 0.5 of MyOrbik, its cybersecurity-focused platform for industrial environments, with key enhancements that strengthen traceability, control and automation in digital asset management.

This new version introduces important new features in the analysis and management of SBoMs (Software Bill of Materials), such as manual approval, which allows components to be validated in a more controlled way. Integration with GitHub has also been added, which facilitates its connection with CI/CD pipelines, and a new scan scheduler, which allows scheduling periodic security scans.

In addition, traceability and automation capabilities have been reinforced through the incorporation of new security policies, SAST analysis, and improvements in aspects such as hierarchies, tags and persistent filters. All of this has been developed with a clear focus on improving the user experience and facilitating interoperability with suppliers.

Beyond the functionalities, MyOrbik is positioned as a useful tool in the context of OT cybersecurity, an increasingly relevant area in the industry. Unlike IT cybersecurity, which is usually oriented towards information systems, OT cybersecurity focuses on protecting industrial infrastructures, where risks have a direct impact on physical processes.

This new version also helps to facilitate compliance with new European regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which introduces the obligation to actively monitor and manage vulnerabilities. MyOrbik helps to keep up to date with the tasks necessary to move in this direction.

With this evolution, Orbik continues to develop solutions aligned with the real needs of the industrial sector, combining automation, control and compliance in a single platform.

Meet the Jury of the TFG-TFM MONDRAGON Sariak 2025 Awards

The TFG-TFM MONDRAGON Sariak 2025 Awards are moving forward, and the juries that will evaluate this year’s submissions have now been announced. Each participating cooperative has formed its own jury, made up of experts in the fields related to the proposed challenges. The full list of jurors can now be viewed on the dedicated page for each cooperative.

These awards recognize the best Bachelor’s and Master’s Final Projects (TFG/TFM) that address real-world challenges defined by cooperatives within the MONDRAGON ecosystem. Each challenge is developed in collaboration with internal teams from the cooperatives, aiming to generate a real and tangible impact through the contribution of university talent. MONDRAGON Sariak is a unique initiative that connects academia and enterprise through innovation, learning, and a commitment to social development.

You can now explore the juries and challenges in each of the five main award categories:

Digital Transformation – Danobatgroup: award for the best project in industrial digitalization.
People-Based Transformation – MONDRAGON: focused on new organizational models that place people at the center.
Energy-Climate Transformation – Fagor Taldea: challenges linked to the energy transition and sustainability.
Transformation in Health and Care – MONDRAGON Health: innovation in active aging and well-being solutions.
Transformation of Finance for Society – LABORAL Kutxa: analysis and proposals for a more inclusive financial system.

In addition to the five main awards, three special awards will also be granted — no additional registration required:

If your project stands out for its innovation, is written in Basque, or has a strong social impact, it will automatically be considered for these additional recognitions.
